How we research and review our content
Funeral and cremation decisions carry real cost and real grief. So we hold this content to a high bar. This policy explains how we research, source, review, and update every guide on the site.

How we research
We build each guide from primary sources. We use published funeral-home price lists for costs, and government offices for rules — the FTC Funeral Rule, the NFDA, and state vital-records offices. We do not copy other sites.
How we cite
Every statistic and legal claim links to its primary source. Money and rights claims on pages such as the Cost Guide cite the NFDA and the FTC directly, so you can check the figure yourself.
Who writes and reviews
KC Crematory researches and writes the guides. KC Crematory is a working crematory operator with hands-on Kansas City metro experience, so the guidance reflects real practice, not theory.
How we handle AI assistance
If we use AI to help draft or organize a guide, a human editor edits and fact-checks it against primary sources before it publishes. AI never replaces the source check. The person, not the tool, is responsible for accuracy.
How we keep guides current
Every guide shows the author and the date of the last update. We review guides when prices, laws, or local offices change, and we update the date only when the content truly changes. We never fake an update date.
How we correct mistakes
If you find an error, email us at help@kansascityfuneralhomes.com. We check it against the source and correct the guide promptly.
